Additional Features & Mode of Action

Replacement is rarely recommended by the medicals due to the need for follow-ups, investigating wound status and progression of wound healing, rarely due to felt damage.

The correct application of Vero-Felt by the practitioner automatically redistributes pressure. Vero-Felts releases pressure forces from the ulcer and distributes pressure towards the healthy surrounding area, which gains support from the semi-rigid Vero-Felt parts sticking to it.

The Wound / Ulcer is kept on flotation mode (with no direct pressure) to allow proper and healthy healing.

The support of the healthy surrounding area parts, by the semi-rigid feature allows to “Give Way” for mobility, movement and when walking.

The Heavy Duty/ Heavy Weight feature allows perfected protection even when extra pressure is pushed on Vero-Felts without bottoming down effect. This impedes wounds and ulcers from contacting hard surfaces or being pressed upon thus staying pressure-free.

Warning

Do not cover the ulcer with felt.
Applying with unopened discharge can cause window oedema.
Avoid covering fingers with felt.
Do not apply insufficient felt thickness.

Application & Indications

Indicated for offloading and isolating wounds, neuropathic ulcers; neuro-ischaemic ulcers.
Can be applied to all body areas, in addition to plantar and lateral areas of the body and foot where off-loading is required.
Indicated for infected ulcers.
To be used to offload pressure inside total contact casts.
Not indicated for ischemic ulcers or ulcers located on the dorsal area of the foot.
Easy monitoring when replacement takes place.
