Regenerative Medicine Concept & Applications

ReHaVe - Veroderm RMP

Regenerative medicine is a multidisciplinary field involving biology, medicine and bioengineering. It combines the physical nature of a product with living cells.

"Tissue Regeneration," "Tissue Engineering" and "Regenerative Medicine" are related terms and are sometimes used interchangeably.

Regenerative medicine is an emerging approach in modern medicine as it delivers living tissue, stimulating the body's own natural healing process by activating the body's inherent ability to repair and regenerate. Innovative therapies are now available that aim to heal or reconstruct diseased tissue and support and expedite the regeneration of diseased or injured cells and organs.

We facilitate regenerative medicine with our advanced biotechnology devices, so doctors can now use regenerative medicine to speed up healing and to help injuries that will not heal or repair on their own. Regenerative medicine helps heal broken bones, soft tissue deformities, severe burns deformities and chronic wounds.

ReHaVe® is applying Veroderm RMP’s with the latest developed nano-biotechnology tools for soft tissues and skin regenerative medical treatments.

ReHaVe® is totally safe, with a definitive response to treatments, short healing time, obtaining fully functional tissues and full thickness skin to their original forms.

ReHaVe® RMP for wounds Acute & Chronic;

provides the microenvironment needed to support wound healing

is engineered to promote regeneration and re-modelling of native tissue in the defect space/wound bed

is made of polymers that are naturally absorbed by the body – as such, it should not be removed under normal circumstances. This eliminates the need for painful frequent dressing change that irritates the wounds bed and disrupts the healing process.

 Why ReHaVe® is Different?

It is not only what polymers are in a technology of a 3D device, it is the architecture of these polymers what makes the difference as well.

Up to date, no competing product comes close in terms of features including efficacy, definitive & rapid healing, ease of use, reducing the healthcare burden and improving the quality of life of patients.

ReHaVe®

ReHaVe® is applied to heal and treat burns and burns deformities at all phases, acute, intermediate and late.

  • Works on cellular level to naturally regenerate fully functional tissues
  • Expedite burn healing including deep and full thickness burns
  • Avoid soft tissue and skin deformities when applied in the acute phases of injuries
  • Treat all post burn deformities
  • Resolve fundamental burn healing problems and naturally form adequate fully functional skin and tissue
  • Treat contractures and avoid hypertrophic scarring and correct contour abnormalities
  • Applied for all cases at any phase, acute, intermediate and late. Intermediate to Late phases should require excision and surgical intervention
  • Applied on cases and patients treated expectantly
  • To replace Split & Full Thickness Grafting, in addition to a broad application for medical surgical medical repair.

ReHaVe® ; acts in both, Full Thickness and Split Thickness Grafts. In addition, applying ReHaVe® instead of split thickness procedures, ReHaVe® allows simultaneous skin growth as in Full Thickness Graft as opposed to Split Thickness progress, which gives a better cosmetic outcome.

Applying ReHaVe®:

Release patients’ suffering. Save donor sites. Avoid rejection incidents. Less hospitalization time

TIMING OF RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

ReHaVe® can be applied in any of the phases, rearranging and regenerating soft tissues in the target area/s.

In all cases, applying ReHaVe® will immensely shorten the treatment time and allow the regeneration of fully functional tissues with no/ diminished deformities.

Normally, the timing of burn reconstruction falls into three distinct phases:

  1. ACUTE: to prevent secondary deformities by initiating appropriate acute intervention and can also enhance outcomes by assisting with aesthetic decisions
  2. INTERMEDIATE: They have immature scars, patients are those with recent burns who received their acute burn care at another facility and come to the plastic surgeon for another opinion
  3. LATE: with mature scars and grafts and established burn deformities.

The best phase to apply ReHaVe® is the ACUTE phase to minimize medical concerns/ risks and maximize patients’ convenience, care and obtain a quick healthy regenerative healing with no/ diminished scarring - deformities.

Scar Release:

It is known that in most cases, however, it is better to work with the grafts and scars that are already present than to excise them. Normally, grafts can be either split thickness or full thickness.

Defects resulting from scar release can also be closed with flaps transferred with either traditional or microsurgical techniques.

The choice of the appropriate intervention and the timing of intervention are both essential ingredients that determine success or failure after burn reconstruction.

Now, however, applying ReHaVe® on target area/s soft tissues will spare healing time, and meet expectations of both medical practitioners and patients who do not want to wait further and want to have their skin look normal again with the latest surgical intervention techniques and applications.

ReHaVe® for Old Thick Scars

Normally, the length of time required to reach the end point of burn scar maturation, so that reconstructive surgeries can be applied; is considerably longer than is generally appreciated.

Scars that are thick, raised, and erythematous after 1 year or longer will often improve dramatically if given more time, often several years. However, when tension is present, scars never heal well.

Intervening with ReHaVe® works in reconstructing soft tissues from cellular level in an expedited but healthy manner properly controlling the release of collagen and elastin avoiding overproduction of factors normally leading scarring and deformities, thus effectively healing the target area/s with no/ diminished scarring.

No Waiting Time

Eliminate the waiting time from ACUTE to LATE phase

In traditional treatments and normally, the prolonged process of scar maturation is allowed to occur, particularly when aided by appropriate help from the surgeon and therapists. This is due to the fact that mature scars are usually less conspicuous than would be surgical scars resulting from excision and primary closure, because of the gradual and subtle transition from unburned skin to burn scar

In such cases, hypertrophic, contracted, and conspicuous scars that are problematic at 1 year or longer can improve greatly with more time.

However, the desire for “excision” before or during that time can lead to iatrogenic deformities. These deformities are normally avoided with more time and Z-plasties performed within the maturing hypertrophic scar tissue.

Applying ReHaVe® at any phases of the incident will eliminate these concerns and possible deformities, quickly regaining natural and fully functional subdermal and dermal tissues and normal skin looks.

Late-phase reconstructive surgery includes all postburn deformities that are stable and consist of mature scars and grafts. It is not uncommon in this group of patients for hypertrophic scars to present with areas of open ulceration. This is almost always caused by chronic tension. The resulting ischemia in the scar causes unstable epidermal coverage. Operations directed at relief of the tension will usually cure the chronic open wounds.

The Science – nanoBioTechnology

ReHaVe is a synthetic, nanohydro graft made of approved polymers and designed for use as a dressing for acute or chronic wounds and burns. ReHaVe works by providing cell and tissue-level structural support at the nano-level, with the nanofibers able to replicate the natural extracellular matrix. This encourages cell adhesion, guides cell growth, and allows stem cells to differentiate. ReHaVe dissolves by natural metabolic processes, resulting in complete resorption and replacement with natural tissue.

ReHaVe is a 100% animal-free product to ensure that the there is little risk of immune rejection, and highly reproducible. ReHaVe can be stored in ambient conditions, and is useful in all types of wound applications.

ReHaVe meets standards for biocompatibility of woundcare devices.

RPM - Why ReHaVe procedure Pack? VeroRich

The ReHaVe matrix is able to encourage rapid natural healing by replicating the normal structure of the extra cellular matrix (ECM) of the tissue. This takes place as providing an excellent cellular environment for tissue growth promotes healthy regeneration process, and this is what we do.

While the specially designed Enrichment System (VeroRich, special PRP based tubes) is able to provide a physiologically relevant concentration of platelets that aids in jumpstarting the healing process for optimal application of ReHaVe. By creating a wound and changing the wound environment to an optimal environment, the healing process is expedited and the overproduction of collagen is controlled thus preventing scarring.

The environment of chronic wounds is suboptimal for tissue regeneration, and platelets have a vital role in the healing of injured tissue.

By concentrating the platelets, and removing other white blood cells, we increase the availability of growth factors and cytokines to restart wound healing. VeroRich has been optimized for use with ReHaVe.

ReHaVe and VeroRich in Acute and Chronic Wound & Ulcers Healing:
Taking into consideration Chronic wounds which are generally characterized by a long inflammatory phase in which the healing process becomes stalled.

The Combination

To help healing, ReHaVe provides a temporary ECM substitute to structurally support cells and retain platelets. ReHaVe aims to rapidly increase proliferation of cells during the wound remodelling process, aiding in wound closure.

ReHaVe is completely biodegradable, although there may be some variation in the time it takes to degrade in the wound, and is able to mold to the contours of the wound bed.

While VeroRich platelets are critical to healing in chronic wounds, because they stimulate progression beyond the inflammatory phase. The physiologically relevant concentration of platelets, a distinguishing feature of VeroRich compared to other PRP preparations is important.

The combination of VeroRich and ReHaVe support both the cellular environment and the ECM in this complex wound environment.

When combined with nano-PRP, ReHaVe fibers mimic the natural extra cellular matrix and promotes fibroblast and stem cell adhesion, proliferation, and organization, as well as deposition of native ECM and hair follicle formation. This results in the regeneration of functional dermal tissue.

ReHaVe and VeroRich in Chronic Wound Healing: Cascading events occur during wound healing that include: platelet accumulation, inflammation, fibroblast proliferation, cell contraction, angiogenesis and re-epithelialization. Chronic wounds are generally characterized by a long inflammatory phase in which the healing process becomes stalled.

Platelets are critical to healing in chronic wounds, because they stimulate progression beyond the inflammatory phase. Platelets release growth factors and cytokines, which act as messenger molecules for intercellular communication to orchestrate the healing process. The physiologically relevant concentration of platelets, a distinguishing feature of VeroRich compared to other PRP preparations is important. This is because many cellular receptors involved in wound healing respond to their growth factor, cytokine, and chemokine ligands with bell-shaped dose response kinetics. VeroRich platelet concentrations are optimized for stimulation of these receptors.
